Unit 4, Area of Study 2

Biology

AOS2, UNIT 4

We review how genetic changes in populations over time cause genetic drift and leaves some species vulnerable to extinction. We consider evidence from the fossil record, and how this, in conjunction with DNA evidence, allows us to determine relatedness between species. We finish unit 4 with a focus on hominin evolution, and the migration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations. We conclude by applying our knowledge and understanding to VCAA exam questions.
