Mathematical Methods

  • Ensuring students are informed about changes in 2023-2027 study design, what it means for using older resources and how it affects assessing outcomes 2 & 3 as well as the setting of exam questions. 
  • Algorithms and their representation with pseudocode which Damien provides an overview of, identifies inconsistencies and trends within advice and sample material provided by VCAA and suggests on how to prepare for exam questions assessing associated knowledge and skills.

 

Damien St Pierre

Damien St Pierre has been a Mathematical Methods teacher since 2017 after completing his Bachelor of Science (major in mathematics) at Charles Sturt University and Masters of Secondary Education through University Melbourne. Damien has previously worked in a variety of fields ranging from snow sports to engineering project offices bringing a diverse and applications focused background to his teaching of mathematics. Damien is currently the Leader of Numeracy and Mathematics at Lara Secondary College and Units 1-4 Mathematical Methods subject coordinator at the college.
